Town and Country Developments was founded on the visionary leadership of the late Barry Taylor, whose unwavering commitment to excellence in property development began in 1964. A key milestone in the company’s history came in 1994 when Barry was awarded the prestigious What House Gold Award for Best New Build House. This recognition cemented his reputation as a forward-thinking developer who set new standards for quality and innovation in the UK property market.

In 1993, Barry’s son, Stephen Taylor, joined the company, bringing fresh energy to Town and Country Developments while carrying forward his father’s legacy. Under Stephen’s leadership, the company continued to explore new residential development opportunities, focusing from 1999 to 2006 on Liverpool, a dynamic city known for its cultural heritage, including The Beatles,
and its famous football clubs, Liverpool FC and Everton FC.

During this period, Town and Country Developments recognized a gap in the market for luxury housing that combined affordability with sophistication. Barry and Stephen leveraged their combined commercial expertise to develop high-quality apartments and homes that integrated upscale elements typically seen in high-end properties. Collaborating with renowned interior designers and prestigious luxury brands, they crafted homes with a distinctive blend of premium decorative lighting, bespoke finishes, and state-of-the-art features. Signature installations, such as Bang & Olufsen audio-visual systems and Philippe Starck fittings, set a new benchmark for modern, functional elegance.
